About
Insight Xcite is seeking a Data Scientist to support a government client in Chantilly, VA. You'll apply advanced analytics, machine learning, and datascience techniques to deliver mission-critical insights that directly support national security. This is a hands-on role where you'll transform complex datasets into actionable strategies, working closely with stakeholders to solve problems that matter.
Duties & Responsibilities- Identify opportunities for machine learning models and algorithms to analyze large, complex datasets, and implement design, develop, and implement them where needed.
- Build visualizations, dashboards, and reports that clearly communicate results to technical and non-technical audiences, with a focus on automated ETL pipelines and self-service analytics.
- Partner with government stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging data to improve mission outcomes, especially from a business analytics perspective.
- Apply advanced statistical methods, predictive modeling, and exploratory data analysis to solve mission-critical challenges.
- Provide documentation and technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay current with emerging tools, techniques, and methodologies in data science.
- Active TS/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph (FSP) — non-negotiable.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in Python, R, or SQL.
- Strong background in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data wrangling.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work both independently and in teams.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in a quantitative discipline.
- Experience with big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with complex ETL pipelines.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, seaborn).
- Proven ability to leverage GenAI via prompt engineering.
- Prior consulting or government client experience.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
