Duties

  • Start up, Operate, Monitor and Shut Down Process and Utility Systems.
  • Monitor, maintain and optimize process parameters (Level, flow, temperature, pressure etc.) within operating requirements.
  • Ensure sampling is carried out and sample results are acted upon.
  • Troubleshoot to maximize sales quality and delivery volume to identify problems.
  • Maintain discharge water quality within current SBMPC or local guidelines.
  • Monitor electrical/hydraulic control panels, safety and emergency shutdown devices, Fire and Gas Systems.
  • Ensure accurate production reporting is submitted daily or as required by company and client.
  • Witness third party calibrations when appropriate to provide verification of meter factors and volumes.
  • Prove export oil meters.
  • Work to SBMPC MS policies and procedures in particular Isolation Standards, and PTW.
  • Carry out all operations in safe and environmentally sound manner.
  • Operate offshore production facility in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Test, calibrate, maintain and inspect equipment.
  • Perform mandatory paperwork required by customer and government agencies.
  • Coordinate logistics for facility.
  • Chemical treating and handling.
  • Facilitate maintenance operations by applying/removing isolations as required.
  • Operation under PTW system, Toolbox Talk and Risk Assessments.
  • Advise maintenance personnel on hazards of plant and equipment.
  • Maintain clear and precise communications during maintenance operations.
  • Control activities of vendor and subcontractor personnel.
  • Create and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Create and maintain positive work culture.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in Offshore Oil and Gas Production
  • T-2, Crane/Rigger Certification, Incipient Fire Fighting, Water Survival, First Aid/CPR and Safe Gulf

Physical Requirements

  • Drug & Alcohol Test
  • Medical Clearance Physical and Respirator Fit Test
  • Ability to travel by helicopter or boat
  • Able to perform demanding physical labor in harsh environments on land and offshore
  • 3 yrs. experience desired with offshore experience.
  • Medically fit to offshore international standards such as ENG1 or equivalent.
  • Good experience of Permit to Work, Instrument/Mechanical Isolation Standards and Risk Assessment
  • Able to work a rotating schedule (14/14, 7/7)

Skills

  • A high level of Proficiency in computer programs, Ex: Microsoft Excel, Word.
  • Proven experience and/or qualified to N/SVQ/HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or local equivalent 3 yrs.
  • Experience and knowledge of hydrocarbon processing systems and utilities
  • Ensures that all work is performed in a competent and safe manner
  • Provides personnel with the necessary tools and equipment to do their jobs safely and effectively
  • Monitors production, optimizes flow rates, and keeps down time to a minimum
  • Completes well tests, production reports, and other production related paperwork as necessary
  • Able to delegate jobs and daily routines to all employees under their authority
  • Knowledgeable in liquid and gas pipeline operation, maintenance, and emergencies
  • Knowledgeable in applicable state, BSEE and other federal regulations
  • Possesses a strong working knowledge of wellhead and downstream production processing equipment
  • Capable of operating and troubleshooting a variety of surface production equipment compressors, pumps, generators, etc. and their associated safety systems
  • Capable of testing all safety devices, filling out required paperwork and ensuring that all BSEE paperwork is on hand, up to date, and being maintained for two (2) prior years
  • Capable of basic troubleshooting of pneumatic systems
  • Capable of a platform start-up and troubleshooting operational problems
  • Capable of completing all production related computer work
  • Capable of following instructions from immediate supervisor
  • Effectively communicates, both written and orally
