About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr Software Engineer specializing in Android development to join our Digital Products team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our Android applications that serve critical functions such as vehicle connectivity, mapping, route optimization, EV charging services, and vehicle purchasing flows. Your expertise will ensure that our mobile solutions are scalable, reliable, and deliver an exceptional user experience. You will lead the technical architecture, implement best practices, and collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver innovative features. Staying current with emerging industry trends and advocating for new technologies will be key to advancing our mobile platform. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, specifically in shipping customer-facing Android applications
  • Proficiency in Android application development using Kotlin or Java
  • Strong understanding of mobile platform architecture, UI/UX design principles, and frameworks
  • Experience with GraphQL, mobile security, and performance optimization techniques
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and mobile release processes
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills for articulating technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
  • Experience working in startup environments, launching products from inception to scale
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic setting
  • A passion for mobile technology and delivering high-quality user experiences

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and deploy Android applications aligned with company standards and user needs
  • Drive the technical architecture and implementation of mobile solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, deliver features, and troubleshoot issues
  • Implement best practices in coding, deployment, and monitoring to ensure high-quality releases
  • Share knowledge through code reviews, pair programming, presentations, and documentation to foster team growth
  • Stay updated on emerging mobile technologies and industry trends, advocating for their adoption when appropriate
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize app performance and security
  • Support the integration of Android applications with backend services and APIs, including GraphQL
  • Participate in planning and executing testing strategies to ensure app stability and quality
  • Assist in troubleshooting production issues and implementing solutions promptly
