Position Overview
The Regional Human Resources Manager leads all human resources functions across two operating entities in Washington and California. This role ensures consistent HR practices, legal compliance, and strong employee relations across a fully remote workforce.
This position is ideal for an experienced HR professional who can operate independently, partner with leadership, and balance compliance, accountability, and people-centered leadership in a mission-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all HR operations across both entities (WA & CA)
- Ensure compliance with federal, Washington, and California employment laws
- Manage employee relations, investigations, corrective actions, and terminations
- Support managers with performance management and documentation
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, 90-day reviews, and offboarding
- Maintain employee handbooks, HR policies, and acknowledgments
- Track and enforce mandatory trainings and background checks
- Ensure accurate timekeeping, attendance, and remote workforce compliance
- Maintain audit-ready personnel files and HR records
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including multi-state operations
- Strong knowledge of Washington and California labor laws
- Proven experience handling employee relations and disciplinary actions
- Excellent documentation, judgment, and confidentiality skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
- HR certification (SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR, SPHR)
- Experience in healthcare, social services, or regulated environments
- Experience supporting remote or distributed teams
Compensation
Salary: $95,000 – $125,000 annually
(Commensurate with experience)
Work Environment
- Fully remote position
- Full-time schedule (Pacific Time preferred)
- Limited travel as needed
