The Plymouth-Area Rural Opioid Training (PAROT) Collaborative is funded by a Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Rural Community Opioid Response Program – Northern Borders Rural Workforce (R-CORP NBRW) 4-year training grant. The Plymouth State University Social Work Program oversees grant activities in partnership with the Plymouth locations of Archways, Lakes Region Mental Health Centers, and Mid-State Health. The project has two main aims: implementing a learning community supporting and expanding provision of medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD); and preparing up to 5 undergraduate Social Work students for entry into the behavioral health workforce through a 1-year Behavioral Health Fellowship program students will apply for in the junior year and participate in during the senior year, including practicum placements with the community partners.

The Learning Collaborative Coordinator (LCC) is a 12-month position that will be responsible for all aspects of planning and implementing all medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) learning community seminars. The LCC will collaborate with network agency contacts and Social Work Program to oversee and support placement of undergraduate Social Work student interns with network partners. The LCC is expected to participate in sponsor-related meetings, training, and activities as required by sponsor. The LCC will assist Project Director with other implementation duties as directed. The Learning Collaborative Coordinator reports to the Project Director. The position is not considered essential PSU staff.

Duties/Responsibilities

(70%)

Planning and implementing all medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) learning community seminars, which includes:

  • Identifying relevant content in consultation with Project Director and community partners.
  • Contracting with appropriate speakers and content experts.
  • Event planning logistics such as securing space, ensuring tech needs are in place, coordinating refreshments, and additional tasks as needed to run a successful training event.
  • Securing continuing education credit approval from related disciplines such as Medical, Nursing, Social Work, and Alcohol and Drug Counseling.

Participating in sponsor-related meetings, training, and activities as required by sponsor, including:

  • Participating in quarterly PAROT Collaborative meetings.
  • Attending monthly grant technical assistance virtual meetings.
  • Participating in all aspects of data collection and reporting as required by the funding sponsor.
  • Attending the annual convening of grantees in Washington, DC as required by sponsor.
  • Assisting with sponsor-related annual or semi-annual written report preparation and submission.

  • Collaborating with network agency contacts and Social Work Program to oversee and support placement of undergraduate Social Work student interns with network partners.
  • Assist Project Director with other grant-related implementation duties as directed.

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

  • MSW degree.
  • At least 2 years' experience in Social Work practicum education processes, including recruiting new internship sites and supervisors, training and providing ongoing support of internship supervisors, guiding students throughout the process of securing and completing their internship.
  • At least 2 years' experience planning and implementing continuing professional education offerings.
  • Demonstrated ability to secure CE approval from appropriate professional organizations.
  • Evidence of strong organizational skills and experience managing reporting and tracking processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in behavioral health settings and/or with populations typically served in behavioral health settings.
  • Knowledge of unique challenges and needs addressing rural substance use.
  • Independent licensure in mental health and/or alcohol and drug counseling.

Compensation Pay Range:

$45/hour
