This Full-Time Research Assistant 2 position is based in Prof. Amin Emad's research lab in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

The RA 2 will work in collaboration with the Research Supervisor to develop and conduct research in the intersection of deep learning and protein science and is responsible for achieving the project's objectives.

Job Responsibilities include:

• Develops and conducts research projects in the intersection of deep learning and bioinformatics. Establishes the design and development of research methods, data collection and analysis, and the interpretation of results.
• Oversees and assists in the development and execution of experiments, data collection and processing, analysis, and compilation of results.
• Develops and implements new methods based on large language models, contrastive learning, generative and causal artificial intelligence.
• Adapts and applies advanced deep learning tools for research purposes.
• Writes articles related to research activities.

• Assists with the preparation of grant applications.

• Assists and supervises student research and code development.

• Provide some administrative support, including website updates, new student onboarding, and lab organization.

• Assist with system administration tasks, mainly relating to the administration of the lab servers.

Qualification:

- Must hold a master's degree in engineering or computer science (or have submitted their thesis).

- Strong foundation in deep learning and protein science.

- Hands‑on experience applying deep learning techniques to bioinformatics analysis.

- 2 years experience ​in similar field
