Overview
An SRE DevOps Engineer role at Lloyds Banking Group located in Edinburgh. The position is full‑time, hybrid (40% office), with a salary range of £70,929 – £86,691 per year.
Responsibilities
Maintain, support and continually improve cloud infrastructure in a specific technical area. Investigate, resolve and remove service issues with an engineering mindset. Enhance observability and identify ways to improve it. Reduce toil by designing automated solutions. Prioritise operational service improvements to meet or exceed Service Level Objectives (SLOs). Lead incident post‑mortems and collaborate with product owners to balance run, change and improvement work in each sprint. Mentor early‑career engineers and participate in technical interviews to build a strong team.
Qualifications
Strong experience with Kubernetes and Service Mesh (Istio). Hands‑on CI/CD automation for build and release across multiple tools. Automated testing (unit, integration, load, performance). Expertise in observability, logging, monitoring and alerting. Programming experience in at least two of: Java, Python, Go, C++, JavaScript/TypeScript, PowerShell, Bash/Shell. Knowledge of Azure services such as AKS, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, Azure API Manager and App Gateway. Familiarity with monitoring platforms like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Dynatrace and security‑cloud tools.
