Sr. Software Engineer, Knowledge By Zapier

About the Opportunity:

The organization develops an automation and AI platform to help businesses scale efficiently. This opportunity is for a Senior Full Stack Engineer (backend leaning) to join the team responsible for expanding an internal knowledge platform that syncs, structures, and retrieves data from thousands of integrations, supporting AI-driven workflows and products.

Responsibilities:

• Design, scale, and maintain internal tools, APIs, and user interfaces for managing files, data, and knowledge across integrations

• Work primarily on backend systems with occasional contributions to frontend code (React, TypeScript)

• Collaborate with AI and infrastructure teams on data syncing, search, structured outputs, and test automation

• Lead technical initiatives, mentor teammates, and participate in architectural decisions

• Improve developer-facing products such as dashboards and documentation

Requirements:

• Strong backend experience with Python (Django preferred), , or similar frameworks

• Familiarity with React and TypeScript, with willingness to contribute to frontend as needed

• Experience designing and using REST APIs, event-based systems, and scalable backend workflows

• Comfortable working with cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools

• Interest in collaboration and async communication within a remote team

• Customer-focused approach to solving technical problems and improving user experience

• Willingness to learn and tackle ambiguous or novel problems

• Experience using or willingness to adopt AI tooling for work

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, vector databases, or semantic search

• Experience building or supporting LLM-powered products in production

• Familiarity with collecting and using telemetry or usage metrics

• Ability to navigate and contribute across multiple services and distributed codebases
