As a Construction Project Administrator, you will provide construction project administration/ technical support including budget preparation, recordkeeping, on-site progress monitoring, cost forecasting, reviewing of technical documents, creating and tracking project issues/punch lists and managing building code compliance review of technical documents.

Construction Project Administrator

Serves in the Construction Department in the Office of Engineering with offices located at either Washington Dulles International Airport or Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

Assists engineers in managing construction projects by providing administrative and technical support, special studies and projects, and tracking of all phases of projects to help keep projects on schedule and within budget. Performs construction management related functions as an Alternate COTR (Contracting Officer's Technical Representative) on as needed basis. Performs related functions.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists in preparing budgets and forecasts and inputs data into the Airports Authority's enterprise system and Office of Engineering's project control system.

Monitors construction in progress and upon completion to ensure performed work meets contract specifications, industry standards, and project design intent; recommends approval/disapproval of work.

Performs quality control reviews in accordance with the Army Corps of Engineer Quality Control Program and Safety Inspection Checklist.

Coordinates submission of construction progress reports; reviews reports for adequacy and accuracy of services performed, conformance to schedules, and laboratory reports. Processes drawings and material lists.

Confers with designers on contractor-submitted items to ensure design intent is accomplished in construction.

Performs special studies and projects to establish or improve systems for construction scheduling, quality assurance, cost control, progress reporting, and safety.

Assists in reviewing engineering designs and contract documents to enhance project constructability, usability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness and to minimize contractor claims and inconvenience to airlines, tenants, and travelers.

Prepares periodic cost and schedule reports, charts, and graphs.

Assists in administering construction contracts, including contract modifications, budget and forecasting reviews, and cash flow projections. Reviews expenditures and highlights anticipated cost variances and exceptions. Creates purchase orders and invoices.

Analyzes contractor estimates and recommends approval, modification, or rejection to the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR).

Assists in coordinating construction and architectural/engineering (A/E) firms' provision of construction phase services, ensuring procedures and processes are correctly followed, including the timely submittal of drawings, documents, and samples.

Facilitates project meetings, site visits, and processes Requests for Information (RFIs).

Conducts regular site visits to monitor progress of work and to review contractor's monthly progress
