Required Skills & Experience:
- 4+ years
supporting desktop and networked systems, including troubleshooting and maintenance of desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, and scanners. - 2+ years
experience in computer deployment, operations, and repair. - 2+ years
experience installing and configuring hardware and software. - 2+ years
experience administering Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager. - Proficiency supporting Microsoft Office applications (Edge, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Ability to lift
up to 50 lbs occasionally
and
20 lbs frequently
.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience using a Help Desk ticketing system.
- Experience working with the NTS Network.
- Experience with Active Directory and/or Microsoft InTune.
Education & Certifications:
- High School Diploma (required).
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; may substitute for equivalent work experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
Daily Responsibilities
- Build desktops, laptops, and tablets using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
- Verify successful BitLocker encryption and confirm keys are stored in both Active Directory and Microsoft InTune.
- Ensure MECM client installation on all deployed devices.
- Maintain device connection to the NTS Network for at least 2.5 hours post-deployment to ensure full system check-in.
- Confirm installation of all software listed on approved build sheets.
- Accurately document all endpoints (desktops, laptops, tablets, docking stations, monitors, printers, scanners, and other assigned assets) in the designated ITS Asset Management System in accordance with agency procedures.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve endpoint hardware and software issues; record actions and resolutions in the Help Desk ticketing system.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs or coordinate with vendors for specialized equipment servicing.
- Assist with the removal, disposal, or salvage of obsolete equipment in compliance with agency disposal procedures, including electronic TID and disposal requests.
- Provide additional related support duties as assigned.
Monthly Responsibilities
- Connect all SCDOT Commission backup tablets to the NTS Network via patch cable to receive Patch Tuesday updates. (Login not required.)
- Power on and connect Commission tablets from the second Friday of each month through 12:00 PM the following Wednesday; log in using the local
