Unix/Linux Engineer

The UNIX Operations team is seeking a highly experienced
Linux (Red Hat) Systems Engineer
with deep expertise in enterprise-level system administration. The ideal candidate will have
10+ years of hands-on experience
managing Linux environments and will provide operational support for approximately
300 Linux servers
. This role requires a strong communicator, an analytical problem solver, and an individual with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for the enterprise Linux environment, including system maintenance and OS patching.
• Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and related software.
• Build Linux servers and perform custom configurations as required.
• Perform system tuning to meet application-specific requirements and drive standardization and automation efforts.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability.
• Maintain compliance with the technology roadmap through OS, hardware, and third-party software upgrades.
• Work on and resolve incident tickets in a timely manner.
• Remediate OS vulnerabilities identified through security audits (Secunia).
• Conduct quarterly Red Hat patching to ensure PCI and security compliance.
• Manage server security and vulnerability remediation activities.
• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders across the organization.
• Participate in a rotating 24×7 on-call support schedule.
• Document procedures, systems, and operational work.
• Support research and development initiatives for new technologies aligned with business goals.
