Job Overview
Valverde Construction, Inc is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will lead the estimation process for complex underground (wet) projects, ensuring accurate cost projections and competitive pricing strategies. Your expertise will drive project planning, support bidding efforts, and contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality infrastructure developments. Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive and accurate civil construction estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and site conditions.
• Utilize industry-standard estimating software such and Bluebeam to prepare detailed cost proposals.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather accurate pricing data and refine estimates.
• Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and risk assessments to ensure competitive yet profitable bids.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing and contract terms while maintaining quality standards.
• Monitor project costs throughout the bidding process and provide recommendations for cost control measures.
• Assist in contract review and management, ensuring all estimates align with contractual obligations and project scope.
• Support project management teams during execution by providing insights on cost variations and potential savings opportunities.

Skills

• Extensive experience in construction estimating with a focus on civil infrastructure projects (REQUIRED).
• Proficiency in Bluebeam for digital plan review, markup, and collaboration.
• Strong negotiation skills to secure optimal pricing and contractual terms with vendors and subcontractors.
• Familiarity with HeavyBid or similar estimating software for detailed bid preparation.
• Solid understanding of construction site operations, safety standards, and project management principles.
• Knowledge of contracts, cost control techniques, and project scheduling to ensure accurate budgeting.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze complex data sets, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
