Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide essential support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities in a home or community setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting clients in their daily activities, promoting their independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being. This role requires a strong commitment to resident rights and the ability to work collaboratively with families and other care providers.

Duties

  • Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  • Monitor patients' health conditions through regular observation and reporting any changes.
  • Assist clients with mobility, including lifting and transferring as necessary.
  • Support individuals in engaging in community activities and social interactions.
  • Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
  • Advocate for residents' rights and promote their dignity and independence.
  • Administer prescribed medications appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
  • Document daily activities, observations, and any incidents per organizational policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and patient observation practices.
  • Familiarity with working with people who have developmental disabilities is a plus.
  • Understanding of resident rights and the importance of advocacy in care settings.
  • Ability to lift clients safely using proper techniques.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Must be able to pass drug screening and background checks as required by state regulations.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $14.00 per hour
