Job Title: Lead Platform Automation Engineer
Location: Plano/Dallas area (1st choice) or within 60 miles of other Bread locations
Work Type: W2, Hybrid (1–2 days in office per week)
Role Overview
- 90% hands-on works
- This is not a QA role — it's a Full Stack position.
- They are specifically seeking candidates with senior-level titles such as Architect, Principal Engineer, or Staff Engineer—someone capable of building end-to-end solutions, driving automation, and contributing across full-stack, backend, and DevOps areas.
- You'll be part of the Platform Team, developing automation frameworks and scalable engineering solutions.
- The team operates horizontally across the organization, providing support to multiple internal groups.
- Collaboration extends across both U.S. and India-based teams.Financial industry experience is not required.
- Candidates should have strong coding, automation, and architectural skills — as per the role title will be Architect.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of test automation frameworks.
- Develop and maintain tools for test data management and test infrastructure.
- Integrate automated testing into
CI/CD pipelines
for continuous delivery. - Analyse and resolve complex problems, performance bottlenecks, and quality gaps.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in test automation and quality engineering.
- Drive the adoption of emerging testing technologies and shift-left testing practices.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to configure
scalable test environments

Required Qualifications:
- Strong
programming skills
in
Java, JavaScript, or Python
. - Experience with
test automation frameworks
(Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG, etc.). - Knowledge of
DevOps concepts and CI/CD pipelines
. - 8+ years of experience in software engineering, quality engineering, or DevSecOps.
- Strong
problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with
API automation
. - Knowledge of
CI/CD tools
(Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab). - Familiarity with
AWS or other cloud platforms
. - Background in
financial technology or
Languages
- English
