The Opportunity with McKinstry
Our engineering team is on the hunt for a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the continued growth of our electrical engineering practice in the Buildings (new construction and existing building), DER and Data Center sectors. In this role, you will develop, sell, and lead the delivery of complex projects while also growing the team. You will act as a thought leader and subject matter expert internally and represent McKinstry as a respected name in the industry.
- Lead delivery of complex projects for specific offerings/verticals/clients.
- Leads development, with internal and external partners, of best-in-class design delivery.
- Act as a thought-leader and subject matter expert internally and represents McKinstry as a respected name in the industry.
- Lead strategic Engineering & Design group initiatives.
- Engage in all aspects of business development and sales.
- Develop and build strong customer relationships.
- Build and execute on appropriate sales and proposal strategies.
- Grow the electrical team and support recruiting by organizing and leading interviews for higher-level positions.
What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry:
- Four-year college degree required; master's degree or other advanced degree preferred.
- Professional Engineering License required.
- Minimum 18+ years of overall professional experience.
- Project Management: 10+ years.
- People Management: 10+ years.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the following:
- Design of complex power and other building systems including generator plants, medium voltage distribution, uninterruptible power systems, lighting, fire alarm, and grounding
- Familiarity with industry standard software (Revit, SKM, ETAP, Easy Power, etc.) to review models and studies such as: Load flow studies, fault calculations, Arc Flash, overcurrent coordination studies, duct
