AP Lazer is seeking an Accounting Manager.
In this key leadership position, you'll take control of an accounting department that requires a full review and revamping of the foundational systems of the accounting department: general ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll, Inventory and fixed assets, with particular attention to underlying controls and procedures. You will provide senior management with vital cash flow, operational, and financial reports to help guide the company with reliable, accurate, and timely information on which to base sound business decisions. guiding the annual budget development process and creation of the related monthly budget versses actual reports to assist departmental managers in understanding their progress is a must. A high energy, hands-on individual with strict attention to detail will work best in this vibrant, expanding organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management
- Direct daily accounting operations, including accounts payable (AP), Accounts receivable (AR), general ledger (GL) and payroll
- Lead monthly and quarterly and annual close processes for timely, accurate financial reporting
- develop and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and compliance
- Mentor and develop team members: review / approve journal entries, reconciliations, and transactions.
Transactions and Operations
- Oversee banking activities, and including reconciliations and debt payments.
- Ensure AP invoices are paid promptly, supported, and optimized for discounts.
- Drive timely AR collections and maintain a streamlined filing system
- Uphold robust internal controls and GL integrity
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and issue monthly financial statements
- Deliver ad-hoc financial analyses to support business insights
Compliance & Audit Support
- Collaborate with the controller on annual external audits
- Handle local, State, and federal reporting, including tax filings
- Coordinate third-party audits (e.g., workers comp, sales/ use tax, general liability)
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance or Related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience, including proven management/ leadership roles
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial controls
- Proficiency in accounting software (eg, QuickBooks, SAP or ERP systems) and microsoft Office Suite (Including Excel)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing setting (e.g., cost accounting, inventory valuation)
- Familiarity with advanced ERP systems or data analytics tools
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85, $92,000.00 per year
