We have an immediate need for a Construction Project Engineer to support a major customer in the Phoneix area.

Salary: $$90 to $100K

Travel: 25%

Responsible for the design development of water treatment systems. Able to perform and assist in the development of Process Engineering, P&ID drawings, plant layouts, skid assembly drawings.

Review drawings and schedules from related companies and coordinate with contractors and equipment vendors to optimize our project timeline. Prepare schedules, construction records, and reports to address issues and ensure effective construction management.

Responsibilities:

Water Treatment System Construction Management

  • Plan, arrange, and coordinate site facilities, safety and health equipment, and temporary installations in compliance with U.S. regulations, client requirements, and site rules.
  • Develop and coordinate delivery plans for SKID units, equipment, and components based on architectural drawings, plant layouts, and site survey results.
  • Prior to and during construction, share and resolve issues related to the work with partner companies to ensure smooth progress, taking all necessary measures.
  • Regularly review site conditions against the project schedule and actively coordinate progress with contractors and partner companies. In case of delays, discuss recovery plans with contractors to maintain the schedule.
  • Manage construction in accordance with company standards as work progresses, ensuring proper documentation. Collect and consolidate construction records from contractors.
  • Monitor construction status based on P&ID and piping drawings, recording progress and verifying that piping systems are installed as per design and that specified materials are used.
  • Attend required construction management meetings with clients to understand their requirements and concerns, and incorporate them into construction management activities.
  • Work Location: On-site at the project office, 5 days per week.
  • Travel: Approximately 25% travel required to project sites outside Arizona.

OTHER & MISCELLANEOUS

  • Prepare weekly report to document progress and problems.
  • Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes.
  • Reviews and advises management on issues related to work activities.
  • Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisors
  • Maintains high ethical standards in the workplace.
  • Reports all irregular issues and problems to supervisors for solution.
  • Maintains good communication with supervisors, office staff members and outside contacts.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area.
  • Promptly report to management any issues arising during the work process that involve contractual schedules, key milestones, safety and health concerns, cost implications, or unforeseen problems, and seek guidance as needed.

Qualifications:

Education & Work Experience

  • Experience in construction management for water treatment systems, plant facilities, or large-scale water supply and sanitary piping projects, or similar types of work.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 5 to 8 years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Tools & Equipment

  • General office equipment including personal computer, printers, plotters, network file shares
  • Software includes the use of Windows operating system, MS Office with emphasis in Excel and Word. (MS Project experienced preferred)
  • Ability to use specialized engineering drawing software such as AutoCAD and BIM tools for construction management purposes. While the role does not require creating drawings, candidates should be able to:
  • View and interpret drawings using these tools.
  • Utilize the software to verify details and resolve issues during construction.
  • Communicate effectively with contractors and design firms while navigating and reviewing drawings within the software.

Certificates & Licenses

  • Drivers License
  • EIT preferred
  • OSHA30-Hour (For construction side or Industry safety) and OSHA #510 (for construction side)
  • EHS certification ASP(Associate safety Professional ) or CSP(Certified Safety Professional) (CSP preferred)
  • Specialized safety training (e.g., HAZOPER, ESS, NFPA 70E )
  • B-1 General Commercial Contractor (Arizona License)
