The Center for Empowerment and Education (CEE), formerly the Women's Center of Greater Danbury, is a growing nonprofit organization with a vision to end the violence against individuals and families to foster equality and empowerment for all. As a part of the CEE team, you will help empower individuals to find their voice and choose their path towards healing as they rebuild their lives from interpersonal violence while creating safer communities. Since our founding in 1975, CEE has been a safe haven as the sole provider of services to victims of domestic and sexual violence in the Northern Fairfield and Southern Litchfield County areas. Our mission is to serve the needs of individuals, families and the community with prevention, crisis intervention and support services with regard to domestic violence, sexual assault and other major life crises. Our vision is to end the violence against individuals and families and to foster equality and empowerment for all. Each year, CEE serves over 30,000 individuals from our area communities. Our no cost and confidential services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. CEE's key focus areas include emergency shelter and support services, counseling and advocacy, crisis intervention, community education, primary prevention, and training.

Title: Outreach Coordinator

Job Summary: The Outreach Coordinator oversees and conducts scheduling and logistics of all education, training, and outreach/awareness programs related to addressing and preventing all forms of domestic/dating violence, sexual violence, and gender-based discrimination, harassment, and violence in the community. While gender-based violence prevention is the primary focus of this position, the expectation is that the role is also integrated into the overall gender equity work at CEE. This position is to be carried out while empowering victims with respect to their safety and their right to self-determination.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

· Primary contact for scheduling of all education, training, and outreach programs

· Oversee department calendar and schedules; determine team's availability

· Correspond with contacts in the community, at Western Connecticut State University and the Danbury campus of Naugatuck Valley Community College to set up programs and awareness events, and oversee all logistics, including but not limited to: technology; room reservations; handouts; opt-out forms; program descriptions; School Agreement Letters; Evaluations; finalizing Presentation Schedules (room numbers, number of students, topics, etc.)

· Provide follow-up after programs with a thank-you email, post-program evaluations, and donation possibilities.

· Maintain networking and cooperative relationships with schools and community and state organizations, local businesses, etc.

· Assist with administrative tasks for the Community Impact Department, including but not limited to: posting evaluation data; making copies; mailing out materials; organizing outreach materials, etc.

· Engage in Outreach and Tabling events as needed

· Support department with programs as needed.

· Represent the Community Impact Department in meetings and events as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

· Perform other duties as assigned

· Travel as required

· Availability to work nights and weekends on occasion

· Participate on the Sexual Assault Awareness Month and the Domestic Violence Awareness Month Committees.

· Maintain forms and logs

· Complete monthly reports on schedule

· Compile and record statistical data on schedule

· Demonstrate supportive behaviors and accept personal accountability toward CEE's objectives and policies

· Take initiative and/or independent action to ensure work responsibilities are carried out fully and completely

Qualifications

· Minimum Bachelor's Degree or commensurate experience

· Bilingual preferred (not required)

· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

· Attention to detail

· Ability to be flexible and juggle multiple demands

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to work independently and as a team member

· Demonstrated knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence and sexual assault

· Energy, creativity, enthusiasm, compassion, and vision

· Experience with community outreach

· Demonstrated ability to work with diverse communities

· Demonstrated knowledge of issues related to gender equity, diversity, and inclusion

· Computer literacy; proficient in PowerPoint, Canva, Excel, and Social Media

· Ability to work with individuals of all ages, genders, backgrounds, sexual orientations, etc.

· Be certified as a domestic violence and sexual assault crisis counselor per CGS 52-146k; training provided by CEE; Maintain certification with no less than ten (10) hours of in services annually, in issues related to domestic and sexual violence and advocate job enhancement skills

· Maintain compliance with Connecticut statutes: C.G.S including but not limited to: Privilege: C.G.S K; Confidential Communication: C.G.S B) & C.G.S F), C.G.S.52-146k(e); and Confidential Record Keeping: C.G.S i)

· Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and working cell phone required

Supervision:

The Manager of Community Impact will provide supervision to the Outreach Coordinator. The supervisor will oversee the work of the Outreach Coordinator; sign program reports; conduct verbal and

written evaluations annually and as needed. Additional assistance will be provided to the Outreach Coordinator at regular meetings facilitated by CEE, CCADV, The Alliance, and through training programs and materials.

Accountability: Manager of Community Impact

Hours of work: 21 hours per week as scheduled with additional hours if needed

Classification: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

At CEE, we are committed to fair, transparent pay and strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation in the nonprofit sector. The target salary range for this position is $23.00 to $28.00 per hour. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. The candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience will inform compensation for the successful candidate.
