Join Our Team at McCormick Barstow – Attorney (Modesto Office)

McCormick Barstow, a nationwide law firm, is seeking an attorney to join our Modesto office. In this role, you'll be part of a collaborative and dynamic team, working alongside experienced attorneys and gaining invaluable courtroom exposure. In this role, you will:

• Provide legal counsel to existing clients.
• Conduct legal research and draft/review documents, motions, etc.
• Make court appearances.
• Take and defend deposition.
• Help manage client files and ensure they're up-to-date.
• Assist with discovery in litigation and support trial preparations.
• Perform due diligence on contracts, agreements, and other legal matters.
• Attend client meetings, hearings, and other legal proceedings as needed.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and Admission to the California State Bar required

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication abilities.
• Detail-oriented with great organizational skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with legal software tools for research and document management.
• 2-5 years of experience.
