Responsibilities
  • Conduct legal research and provide legal analysis on various issues related to Medical Malpractice
  • Develop case strategies, evaluate settlement value, and provide legal counsel to clients on their rights and legal options.
  • Take lead on cases from beginning to end
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
  • Participate in case strategy discussions and negotiations
  • Manage case files and maintain accurate and organized records
  • Attend continuing legal education courses to stay current on legal developments in Medical Malpractice
Experience
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the State Bar of New Mexico
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in medical malpractice, complex litigation, wrongful death, or similar
  • Previous experience working on cases with high exposure ($10M+)
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Excellent oral communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Willingness to travel when necessary

$110,000 - $165,000 a year Compensation is commensurate with years of experience/bar admittance date
