We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Material Handler to join our operations in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a Material Handler, you will be instrumental in moving, storing, and organizing materials and products throughout our warehouse. This role requires a strong understanding of material flow, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. You will operate various types of material handling equipment to ensure efficiency and prevent damage to goods. Your attention to detail will be crucial in managing inventory and supporting the overall logistics process. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, proactive, and dedicated to contributing to our team's success. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Move, store, and retrieve materials and products within the warehouse.
- Organize and stack inventory to optimize space and accessibility.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Inspect equipment for safety and maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company Safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Ensure the proper handling of all materials to prevent damage.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the warehouse logistics.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is required. Proficiency in operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack). Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including significant Lifting (up to 60 lbs) and standing for extended periods. Strong understanding of warehouse Safety procedures. Good organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
