Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and organized Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in Chicago, Illinois. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining precise inventory records, conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing procedures to minimize stock errors. You will work closely with warehouse associates, supervisors, and management to optimize inventory levels and support efficient warehouse operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for accurate inventory management in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report any potential shortages or overages.
  • Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and production teams to ensure smooth inventory flow.
  • Identify and report damaged or defective inventory.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of inventory to prevent damage and loss.
  • Maintain a clean and organized inventory storage area.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of inventory control best practices.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Logistics or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
  • Proficiency in WMS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and the use of required PPE.
  • Must be able to perform tasks requiring moderate to heavy Lifting.
  • Strong communication skills.
