Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care, particularly in pediatric dentistry. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for working with children. As a Dental Assistant, you will support the dentist in various procedures and ensure that patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit.

Duties

  • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and materials.
  • Take and develop X-rays as required, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by cleaning and sterilizing instruments and equipment.
  • Manage patient flow and schedule appointments efficiently to minimize wait times.
  • Ensure that all dental terminology is used correctly in documentation and communication.
  • Support the dentist in specialized areas such as Prosthodontics when needed.

Skills

  • Proficiency in pediatric dentistry practices is preferred.
  • Familiarity with X-ray technology and techniques.
  • Strong background in dental assisting, including knowledge of dental terminology.
  • Understanding of medical terminology relevant to dental care.
  • Experience managing medical records while adhering to HIPAA standards.
  • Ability to work effectively within dental systems and software for patient management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with children and their guardians.
  • A proactive approach to learning new techniques and staying updated on industry best practices.
