Position Overview:

Ultimus Engineering is seeking a Plumbing Design Engineer with expertise in designing plumbing systems for both residential (multi-family) and commercial projects. This position is ideal for a professional who is passionate about creating efficient, code-compliant plumbing solutions. While licensure as a Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) is preferred, it is not required. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, possess strong technical skills, and demonstrate a commitment to client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

· Plumbing System Design: Develop detailed designs for plumbing systems, including domestic water, sanitary drainage, vent systems, storm drainage, and gas distribution.

· Code Compliance: Ensure all designs meet applicable codes, standards, and regulations, including IPC and other local requirements.

· Project Coordination: Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to integrate plumbing systems into the overall project design.

· Client Interaction: Work directly with clients to understand project requirements and provide expert recommendations for plumbing solutions.

· Documentation and Modeling: Create design documents using AutoCAD and Revit, including construction drawings, isometrics, and details.

· Quality Assurance: Review and verify the accuracy of designs and calculations to ensure functionality and constructability.

· Innovation and Trends: Stay updated on industry advancements, sustainable design practices, and emerging plumbing technologies.

Qualifications:

· Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).

· Licensure/Certification: Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) preferred but not required.

· Experience:

o Minimum of 3–5 years in plumbing system design for residential and commercial applications.

o Strong understanding of plumbing codes, design principles, and construction practices.

· Technical Skills:

o Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for design and documentation.

o Experience with hydraulic calculations and pipe sizing software.

o Cross discipline familiarity with the other two MEP engineering fields

· Soft Skills:

o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

o Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

o Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

· Location: Candidate must be based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with flexibility for remote and hybrid work.
