Polymer Engineering Manager
We are seeking a Polymer Engineer Manager to drive product development and technical innovation at our Adaptive3D facility.
This role combines strategic vision and technical expertise to advance resin portfolio, ensuring alignment between R&D, market needs, and business goals. The Polymer Engineering Manager leads cross-functional collaboration across Research, Application Development, Business Development, Marketing, and Engineering to deliver commercially viable products from concept to commercialization.
The ideal candidate will lead a team of scientists and engineers, fostering innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement while using data-driven insights to enhance performance, accelerate development, and strengthen Arc Impact's leadership in advanced materials.
This position is a full-time on-site position located at our facility in Richardson Texas.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Business Oversight
- Develop, lead, and execute ARC's product development strategy in alignment with the company's mission, vision, and corporate objectives.
- Collaborate with executive leadership and key stakeholders across Research, Application Development, Business Development, Product Management, Marketing, Process Development, and Engineering to ensure both technical and commercial alignment.
- Oversee the company's product portfolio to ensure development priorities support business objectives, market demands, and profitability goals.
- Monitor technical, operational, and financial performance metrics to drive continual improvement and measurable business impact.
- Provide comprehensive oversight of business operations related to product development, ensuring alignment between innovation strategy and overall company performance.
Product Development and Technical Stewardship
- Serve as the technical gatekeeper for all products and projects entering the Product Life Cycle, ensuring initiatives are feasible, strategically aligned, and capable of delivering high impact.
- Direct formulation development to meet defined performance, environmental, and cost requirements established by Product Marketing and customer applications.
- Ensure resin development meets quality and performance standards both before and after printing, including validation through post-processing.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, accelerate time to market, and strengthen ARC's competitive position.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of test procedures, determination of optimal print settings, and development of custom equipment modifications for product validation.
- Apply data-driven decision-making and statistical analysis to optimize formulations, refine processes, and maintain consistent product performance.
Technical Development and Team Leadership
- Manage and develop a high-performing team of scientists, engineers, and technicians responsible for advancing products from concept through process handoff.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning to cultivate the next generation of technical and industrial leaders.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to strengthen team capabilities and ensure long-term organizational success.
- Promote excellence in experimental design, data management, and analytical rigor across all technical operations.
- Encourage collaboration between product development and other business functions to ensure cohesive execution and sustained market impact.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in leading technical and product development teams, preferably within the advanced materials, polymer, or additive manufacturing industries.
- Strong expertise in resin formulation, cure kinetics, and 3D printing technologies.
