Field Construction Superintendent – Job Description

The Field Construction Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day on-site management of construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and the ability to coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee all field operations, including scheduling, logistics, and site safety
• Coordinate suppliers and inspectors to maintain workflow and compliance
• Enforce project plans, specifications, and quality standards
• Monitor daily progress and maintain detailed field reports and logs
• Lead daily safety meetings and ensure OSHA compliance
• Resolve field conflicts and proactively address delays or issues
• Collaborate with the Project Team on schedule updates, RFIs, and change orders
• Conduct site walkthroughs with clients, inspectors, and stakeholders
• Ensure proper documentation of inspections, deliveries, and work completed
• Mentor and supervise field staff and laborers

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Foreman in commercial or industrial construction
• Proven ability to manage multi-trade crews and complex schedules
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations, and building codes
• Proficient in reading blueprints, specifications, and project documentation
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project)
• OSHA 30 certification preferred
