Position Summary

The Training & Development Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive training programs that support workforce capability, compliance, and skill advancement across the Fremont site. This role ensures employees are equipped with the knowledge, tools, and developmental opportunities needed to excel in a rapidly evolving manufacturing environment. The position partners closely with operations, engineering, quality, and HR leadership to align training strategies with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess training needs across production, engineering, quality, and support functions.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on manufacturing processes, equipment operation, safety, compliance, and leadership development.
  • Create and maintain training materials, SOPs, e-learning modules, and competency documentation.
  • Ensure training programs meet ISO, OSHA, and industry-specific standards.
  • Build a structured learning roadmap for employees at all levels, from production associates to supervisors and managers.
  • Implement systems for tracking training completion, skill progression, and certification renewals.
  • Introduce continuous-improvement learning initiatives to support operational efficiency and quality excellence.
  • Lead the onboarding training framework for new hires, ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience.
  • Develop skill matrices, certification paths, and cross-training programs to support labor flexibility.
  • Collaborate with production managers to verify employee qualifications for job assignments.
  • Conduct periodic evaluations of program effectiveness using audits, feedback, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure all regulatory, customer, and internal training requirements are met and documented.
  • Prepare training reports for internal audits, customer audits, and leadership reviews.
  • Partner with supervisors, engineers, and quality teams to keep training content aligned with process changes and new equipment introductions.
  • Provide coaching and training support to frontline leaders to strengthen workplace performance management.
  • Leverage the existing LMS and enhance the functions.
  • Manage external training vendors and coordinate specialized technical training as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in training, manufacturing, or continuous improvement roles.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing environments and standard training needs (e.g., safety, equipment operation, quality systems).
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training documentation processes.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience in electronics manufacturing, assembly, or high-tech production.
  • Certifications such as OSHA 30, Six Sigma, TWI (Training Within Industry), or CPTD/ATD.
  • Knowledge of ISO, RBA, or industry-specific quality management systems.
  • Bilingual skills (e.g., English/Spanish, English/Vietnamese, or English/Mandarin) a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115, $140,000.00 per year
