Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Piping Project Engineer to lead the design, construction, and execution of pharmaceutical process and hygienic piping systems, ensuring compliance with GMP standards, regulatory requirements, and project quality, schedule, and budget goals.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, engineering, and execution of process and hygienic piping systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment, including boilers and other critical utilities.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical piping standards, clean utility systems, and GMP compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee all construction management activities, ensuring projects adhere to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Implement, monitor, and enforce construction QA/QC protocols to ensure all installations meet regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to support value management systems, vendor selection, and material acquisition processes.
  • Manage and mentor one direct report, and participate in the recruitment and onboarding of additional engineering staff as needed.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including process engineering, validation, and operations to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers and project staff.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in piping engineering within the pharmaceutical industry, focusing on hygienic design and process equipment.
  • Proven expertise in construction management, QA/QC, and project delivery in regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of value engineering, procurement operations, and cost control practices.
  • Experience managing small teams and scaling engineering resources efficiently.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with ASME BPE standards and FDA/EMA regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with clean steam, WFI, and other pharmaceutical-grade utility systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design and drafting tools.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
