Project Manager:

We are Growing Our Company, Layton Inc., located in Newark, Ohio, is seeking an associate to join our construction team. We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and dependable individual to permanently join our team as a Project Manager.

The Project Manager oversees and manages civil dirt & utility projects from inception through completion, ensuring all aspects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with relevant regulations, safety, and standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to the entire project team and work to develop creative solutions to address client needs and solve design and construction challenges that may arise.
  • Assist in the maintenance of positive working relationships with subcontractors, customers, material suppliers and other internal and external individuals having an interest in the success of the construction project.
  • Motivated and driven - financially focused on each job/task assigned.
  • Excellent time management with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines – ensuring that both Company and client objectives are being met in timely fashion
  • Team-oriented and action-oriented.
  • Conduct pre/mid/post construction meetings with appropriate parties.
  • Ability to read & comprehend construction blueprints.
  • Assist in the coordination and expediting necessary to ensure proper and timely delivery of shop drawings and submittals, construction materials, change orders, pricing and related approvals
  • Ability to estimate civil construction projects – primarily smaller scale as estimation department would be responsible for large scale.
  • Review subcontract bids for completeness, revise as necessary and negotiate the best possible contract with subcontractors and material suppliers.
  • Ability to identify and advancing business opportunities.
  • Strong ability to coach and mentor others effectively.
  • Maintain and update computerized project schedules.

Requirements:

  • 2-year technical degree (Required)
  • 4-year undergraduate (preferred)
  • Strong mathematical and analytics skill
  • Manage multiple priorities w/ competing dead-lines successfully
  • Strong computer skills
