Direct Support Professional

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring they lead fulfilling and independent lives. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to promoting resident rights and enhancing the quality of life for those in their care.

Duties

• Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
• Assist clients in achieving personal goals and objectives through individualized support plans.
• Monitor and document patient observations, including vital signs, behavior, and overall well-being.
• Facilitate community integration by encouraging participation in social activities and outings.
• Uphold resident rights by ensuring dignity, respect, and privacy for all individuals.
• Administer first aid as needed and respond to emergencies in a calm and effective manner.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care and support services.

Requirements

• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Background in caregiving or home health is advantageous.
• Ability to perform patient care tasks such as cooking, personal hygiene assistance, and mobility support.
• Strong observational skills to monitor client health status effectively.
• Certification in first aid or CPR is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate demeanor are necessary for building trusting relationships with clients.
• Bilingual: Spanish is a plus

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour
