Hickman Automotive Group is looking for a Benefits Coordinator to join our Human Resources Team at our corporate officein St. John's, NL.
The Benefits Coordinator plays a key role in administering and supporting the organization's employee benefits and pension programs, ensuring employees receive clear, accurate, and timely information regarding their coverage and options. This role manages day-to-day benefits activities, including enrollments, changes, terminations, billing, and responding to employee inquiries.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Benefits Administration
- Administer employee benefit programs including health, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans.
- Process enrollments, changes, terminations, and renewals in a timely and accurate manner.
Employee Support & Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries.
- Educate employees on benefit options, eligibility, and claims processes.
- Prepare and distribute benefit-related communications, guides, and resources.
Compliance & Recordkeeping
- Ensure benefits programs comply with federal, provincial/state, and organizational policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in HRIS/payroll systems.
- Support audits and reporting requirements.
Vendor Management
- Liaise with benefits providers and third-party administrators to resolve issues.
- Review invoices, reconcile statements, and ensure accurate billing.
Process Improvement & Reporting
- Identify opportunities to streamline benefits processes and enhance employee experience.
- Prepare reports on enrollment, participation, and utilization trends for management.
Support HR Initiatives
- Collaborate with HR team on onboarding, offboarding, and other programs affecting benefits.
- Assist with open enrollment, wellness initiatives, and special HR projects.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- High School Diploma
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Experience maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
