Job Purpose
The Training and Development Lead will play a key role in supporting the personal and professional development of employees by designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs that reflect both organizational needs and First Nations values. This role blends modern learning strategies with cultural knowledge to build capacity, leadership, and skills across departments.
Education, Experience And Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Education, Indigenous Studies or a related field. A combination
of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in training, learning and development, or organizational
development.
- Experience working with First Nations communities.
- Certification in instructional design, coaching, or facilitation (CPLP, CTDP, etc)
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and training design.
- Familiarity with Indigenous cultural protocols and community engagement practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Knowledge of HRIS and LMS (Learning Management Systems). Preferably UKG.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-cultural settings.
Working Conditions
- Standard work schedule: Monday to Friday, 830 – 430 (with a one-hour paid lunch break); flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed.
- Primary location: Enoch Cree Nation Band Office, with occasional travel to various sites.
- Physical fitness required (ability to walk, climb stairs, lift up to 50 lbs, etc.).
- A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required.
- Must sign and adhere to the Enoch Cree Nation Confidentiality Agreement upon hire.
