In this mission-critical role, you will design, implement, and optimize AI and machine learning solutions that directly support the FDA's public health, regulatory, cybersecurity, and operational priorities.This role requires a unique blend of technical leadership, domain knowledge, AI/ML expertise, and the ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams in a federal healthcare environment.This is a part-time hourly role that will not exceed 400 hours.Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):Architect secure, scalable, cloud-native AI/ML solutions to meet FDA program requirements.Translate FDA mission needs into actionable AI designs using technologies such as LLMs, NLP, predictive analytics, and generative AI.Lead implementation of AI models and pipelines, ensuring responsible AI governance, data security, and compliance.Collaborate closely with FDA business units, data scientists, cybersecurity teams, engineers, and executives to deliver mission-aligned AI capabilities.Provide technical leadership and advisory support to FDA leadership on emerging AI/ML trends and best practices.Stay current on AI technologies, federal AI guidance, and ethical AI frameworks.Mentor Copper River technical teams and contribute to the growth of Copper River's AI capabilities.Essential Job Qualifications:Clearance:Public TrustEducation:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related field.Experience:5+ years of professional experience architecting and delivering AI/ML solutions.Hands-on experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Hugging Face, or equivalent frameworks.Expertise in AWS GovCloud and/or Azure Government cloud services.Experience with Splunk and Meta LlamaStrong knowledge of federal security and compliance frameworks (FISMA, FedRAMP, HIPAA, Privacy Act).Excellent communication, presentation, and client engagement skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting federal healthcare or life sciences clients (FDA, HHS, NIH, CMS, etc.).Knowledge of AI governance, RAG models, fine-tuning LLMs, or generative AI applications.Prior experience applying AI to regulated data domains (clinical trials, pharmacovigilance, regulatory submissions, etc.).Relevant certifications: PMP, AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty, ISC2 AI Governance, etc.Position Pay Range$65—$80 USDAbout Copper River & The Native Village of Eyak:Owned by the Native Village of Eyak (NVE), a federally recognized Alaska Native Tribe, the Copper River Family of Companies are a collection of entities that deliver a complementary set of solutions and services to support the diverse missions and requirements of our clients.
