  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning, laundry, and organization of living spaces
  • Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to ensure safe transfers and prevent injury during heavy lifting or repositioning
  • Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's or dementia care, using specialized techniques to promote safety and comfort
  • Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies

  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, or family members to develop and implement personalized care plans
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols including CPR certification, first aid procedures, and HIPAA privacy standards
  • Assist in hospice or end-of-life care by providing comfort measures and emotional support

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing home settings, or group homes is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and dementia or Alzheimer's care
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications such as Hoyer lift training or hospice care experience are advantageous
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using appropriate equipment such as resident lifts or Hoyer lifts
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare teams
  • Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the lives of others through direct support and caregiving services
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
