Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Description

We're a fast-growing SaaS company and we're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to own and evolve our cloud infrastructure. You'll work at the intersection of development and operations, building reliable systems that empower our engineering teams to ship with confidence. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges and has deep hands-on experience with AWS services.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure on AWS, with a focus on containerized workloads using ECS
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, safe deployments
• Manage and tune databases (RDS Postgres, RDS Proxy) and caching layers (ElastiCache) for performance and reliability
• Build and maintain fan-out queue architectures using SQS and Lambda
• Maintain secure, well-architected VPC configurations and networking
• Write automation tooling and backend services in Python using FastAPI
• Collaborate with backend engineers to improve observability, logging, and alerting
• Manage container environments in development using Docker
• Document infrastructure decisions and mentor junior team members

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering
• Strong backend development skills in Python, particularly with FastAPI
• Deep, hands-on expertise with AWS services, specifically ECS, SQS, RDS, ElastiCache, VPC, Lambda, S3, and RDS Proxy
• Solid experience with Docker and containerized development workflows
• Proficiency with AWS CDK for infrastructure-as-code
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, security best practices, and cost optimization
• Experience with CloudWatch for monitoring and observability
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a calm approach under pressure
