Kata Solution is leading the search on behalf of a top manufacturing employer in the Scottsboro, Alabama area. They are seeking a Controller who can step in quickly, partner with plant leadership, and make an immediate impact on cost management and financial performance.

Position Summary

The Controller is a key financial leader supporting manufacturing operations across multiple facilities. This role partners closely with the Plant Manager and operational leadership to analyze costs, improve profitability, and ensure accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Plex or SAP and the ability to translate financial data into actionable cost reduction recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting and financial activities for multiple manufacturing facilities
• Partner with the Plant Manager to analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and operational performance
• Identify cost reduction opportunities and provide data-driven recommendations to improve margins
• Prepare, analyze, and present monthly financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
• Analyze labor, material, overhead, scrap, and inventory costs
• Ensure accurate inventory valuation, standard costing, and variance reporting
• Maintain and improve financial processes, controls, and reporting accuracy
• Support audits, internal controls, and compliance requirements
• Serve as a key user and subject matter expert for ERP systems (Plex or SAP)
• Lead, coach, and develop one direct report

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (required)
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting or finance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Candidates with fewer years of experience will be considered if they demonstrate strong learning ability and proven performance
• Experience using Plex or SAP ERP systems
• Strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures and drivers
• Ability to analyze financial data and clearly communicate insights to plant leadership

Preferred Qualifications

• Multi-facility or multi-plant financial responsibility
• Standard costing and inventory management experience
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience

Pay: $75, $100,000.00 per year
