IT Support Technician
The DeLong Co., Inc is looking to add an IT Support Technician who will provide frontline technical support for end users, with a primary focus on endpoint management, hardware diagnostics, and system troubleshooting. This role is responsible for PC deployment and configuration, break/fix support, and light scripting to automate routine tasks. The position also includes cross-training opportunities in field operations including VoIP phone systems, network infrastructure, and IP camera systems. This position requires approximately 40% travel to support remote sites and field operations.

Pay: $25-$26/hour based on experience
Schedule: This is a full-time, hourly in-person position, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the IT Support Technician:
- Endpoint Management & Support
- Deploy, configure, and image workstations, laptops, and other endpoint devices according to organizational standards
- Perform hardware diagnostics and repairs including component replacement, peripheral troubleshooting, and system restoration
- Troubleshoot software issues including operating system errors, application failures, and driver conflicts
- Maintain endpoint inventory and asset tracking; ensure hardware lifecycle management compliance
- Respond to and resolve help desk tickets within established SLAs
- Document solutions and contribute to the internal knowledge base
- Scripting & Automation
- Develop and maintain scripts (PowerShell, batch, or similar) to automate routine administrative tasks
- Assist with deployment automation, software packaging, and configuration management
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation
- Field Technician Duties (Cross-Training)
- This role includes cross-training in field operations with a focus on diagnostic and configuration work rather than physical installation:
- Configure and troubleshoot VoIP desk phones and related telephony systems
- Perform basic network troubleshooting including connectivity issues, switch port configuration, and VLAN assignments
- Configure and troubleshoot IP camera systems; diagnose recording and connectivity issues
- Support network infrastructure diagnostics as needed

Required qualifications and experience:
- 2+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, or desktop technician roles
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and Microsoft 365
- Experience with PC hardware repair and diagnostics
- Basic scripting ability (PowerShell, batch scripting, or similar)
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT service management processes
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 40% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certification
- Experience with endpoint management tools (Intune, SCCM, PDQ Deploy, or similar)
- Familiarity with VoIP phone systems and IP camera/NVR platforms
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or logistics environments
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (equipment, monitors, etc.)
- Ability to work in varying environments including office, warehouse, and outdoor settings
- Travel up to 40% of the time to remote sites; may include overnight travel
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
