A manufacturing company located in Grand Rapids, MI is currently hiring for a Purchasing Assistant. There are many tools with the company that will be trained, but it is a must-have requirement for this individual to have proficiency in Excel. There will be a lot of manual and paper-based duties in the role. This role requires someone who has good critical thinking and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The role also requires someone who would be comfortable speaking with the vendors.

Pay - $20/hr. - $25/hr. (Depending on overall relevant qualifications, industry, skills, etc.)
Location - Grand Rapids, MI (Onsite)
Schedule - Standard Morning Shift; Monday-Friday (40 Hours a Week)
Contract Duration - 6 Month Contract To Hire

(Summary of Responsibilities)
- Respond to and investigate internal & external supply chain inquiries in a timely manner.
- Interact with Sales, Accounting, Customer Service, and all departments throughout the organization.
- Create, manage, and send purchase orders using multiple systems.
- Communicate with manufacturing on receipts/damages/inventory adjustments, and enter claims.
- Process product returns by engaging vendors for RMA's.
- Run reports and manage open purchase orders for accuracy.
- Communicate and process order changes & approvals.
- Work with Buyers on Domestic & International supply chain issues.
- Process vendor invoices & credits to the appropriate groups.
- Data entry for processing and maintaining records.
(Qualification Requirement)
- 2-3 years of experience in a business supply chain environment (Purchasing Admin, Purchasing Assistant, Supply Chain Coordinator, etc. would be great).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to think critically and be comfortable learning + managing multiple systems.
- High bonus for having manufacturing environment experience within supply chain/procurement.
- Strong attention to detail - highly organized.
- Experience with Salesforce (CRM), Syspro (ERP), and/or SAP Concur (Accounting Management) is a big plus.
- Strong self-motivation, initiative, and results-oriented.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $ $25.00/hr.
