Warehouse Associate

Whale Supply is an eCommerce distributor of business and industrial supplies based in Chicago. We are an entrepreneurial, growth minded business focused on supporting business's supply needs and backed by more than 20 years in the digital distribution space. We are seeking a motivated, energetic, and reliable to join our team.

Primary Role & Responsibilities:

• Receive and unload incoming materials and compare information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment.
• Sort, count, package, label, and unpack inventory that is received.
• Inspect shipments for damages or defects; record discrepancies or damages and notify supervisor or purchasing personnel.
• Pay close attention to detail and pick, pack, ship customer orders without delay.
• Organize warehouse space and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Ensure that the daily needs of the warehouse operations are met.
• Complete inventory audits and identifying trends.

Salary & Benefits:

• Full-time position at our warehouse in Northbrook; Monday - Friday 8 Hour Shift
• Non-Exempt Hourly Position with hourly rate or $ $20.00 based on experience

Qualifications:

• High school Diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a warehouse pick, pack and ship operation without the use of forklifts or cherry pickers;
• Previous experience with Warehouse Management Systems and MS Excel is a plus
• Experience in working with "ShipStation", UPS and USPS is a plus
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Able to pass a drug test and criminal background check

Skills & Physical Requirements :

• Attention to detail is a MUST.
• Must be able to traverse the warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
• Demonstrate good problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attendance and reliability are a MUST.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with manager and other team members.
• Able to lift/move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
