About
Our Grand Rapids, Michigan facility is looking for experienced Forklift Operators to ensure the efficient and safe movement of materials within our warehouse. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating forklifts to load, unload, transport, and stack materials. This role is critical to maintaining the flow of goods and ensuring timely order fulfillment in our fast-paced logistics environment. You will work closely with warehouse associates and supervisors to manage inventory and support all operational needs. A strong focus on safety and precision is essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, containers, and other vehicles.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and organize inventory in appropriate locations, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Conduct pre-operation checks on forklifts to ensure they are in safe working condition.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Follow all safety regulations, including proper lifting techniques and the correct use of PPE.
- Coordinate with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth workflow and efficient logistics.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform minor maintenance checks on forklift equipment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and scanning equipment.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as dismounting the forklift, checking loads, and performing general warehouse duties, including occasional Lifting.
- Strong understanding of logistics and material handling principles.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.
