About
We are seeking a meticulous Shipping Clerk for our facility in Durham, North Carolina. In this role, you will be the point person for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurately processed, documented, and dispatched. Your attention to detail and understanding of Logistics processes are crucial for maintaining the integrity of our supply chain. You will work closely with warehouse staff and carriers to guarantee timely and correct deliveries. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Verify that order information matches shipping details for accuracy.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Inspect outgoing packages to ensure they are correctly packed, labeled, and secured.
- Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems to record shipment data.
- Communicate with internal departments and external partners regarding shipping status.
- Maintain organized shipping logs and filing systems.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment.
- Wear appropriate PPE as required by Safety protocols.
- Assist with general warehouse duties when needed, supporting the Logistics team.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar administrative/warehouse role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of shipping procedures and Logistics documentation.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and shipping software.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Capacity for moderate Lifting, up to 30 lbs.
- Commitment to Safety in all aspects of the job.
