Boone Memorial Health is seeking dependable and detail-oriented Environmental Services Technicians to join our Housekeeping & EVS team. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and staff. About the RoleEnvironmental Services Technicians are responsible for cleaning assigned areas throughout the hospital, supporting infection control, handling linens, maintaining equipment, and ensuring that all areas are presentable and safe. This role is essential to the comfort, safety, and overall well-being of those who rely on our facility.
Key Responsibilities
• Clean patient rooms, nursing units, surgical areas, offices, waiting rooms, restrooms, and other assigned spaces
• Launder hospital linens if assigned
• Take daily linen inventory and ensure proper distribution
• Use cleaning chemicals and disinfectants safely
• Clean and sanitize surfaces, equipment, floors, furniture, and carpets
• Empty trash, make beds, and restock supplies
• Collect soiled laundry and deliver clean linen to appropriate units
• Inspect equipment daily and report repair needs
• Follow proper safety and infection-control procedures at all times
• Valid West Virginia Driver's License preferred
• Hospital or hotel housekeeping experience preferred; janitorial experience a plus
• Ability to follow instructions and complete repetitive tasks with accuracy
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
• Ability to uphold safety and infection-control standards
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to perform repetitive movements
• Ability to use hands for cleaning tasks and equipment operation
• Ability to use required personal protective equipment (PPE) continuously
• Occasional travel (up to 15%) within West Virginia and surrounding areas
