Description
SAIC is seeking
Database Administrators
to join the Machine-assisted Analytic Rapid-repository System (MARS) Advanced Development Operations (DevOps) and Sustainment Support (ADOS) program and provide on-site technical and administrative support to facilitate operations of critical MARS infrastructure and services. This effort focuses on providing a comprehensive set of System/ Software Engineering and IT Services to maintain, sustain, enhance, and improve/ modernize MARS. This position will be located in the National Capital Region.

Please note that this is contingent upon contract award, with an anticipated decision expected by Winter/ Spring 2026.
The
Database Administrator
responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Oversees the strategy, deployment, and management of complex, high-security database systems within MARS
  • Conducts advanced troubleshooting and performance optimization. Leads disaster recovery planning and execution to ensure data availability
  • Develops and enforces strict database policies and best practices
  • Provides expert mentorship to junior database administrators
  • Coordinates with IT teams to integrate database solutions within broader MARS systems
  • Keeps current with emerging database technologies and trends to drive continuous improvements

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • One of the following certifications CompTIA Security+, Cloud+, SecurityX/ CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, or GSEC
  • Bachelors degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or Software Engineering and 14 years or more relevant experience (will consider an additional 4+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree)
  • Advanced database management, performance tuning, data integrity, backup and recovery operations, high-level maintenance and upgrades, and compliance auditing
  • Proficiency with various DBMS, familiarity with operating systems, and experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams

Target salary range $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
