Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Cloud Engineer to join our technology team In this role, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions that power our digital services. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain cloud infrastructure using platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, Rackspace, and OpenStack to support enterprise applications and services.
  • Implement and manage virtualization technologies including VMware, Docker, Kubernetes, and Citrix to optimize resource utilization and enhance system flexibility.
  • Develop and deploy scalable web services and APIs utilizing RESTful architecture, microservices frameworks, and programming languages like Python, Java, Go, , Ruby on Rails, and .NET.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, PowerShell, Bash scripting, and Shell scripting.
  • Ensure system security through hardening practices, vulnerability assessments, VPN setup, network segmentation, and adherence to best practices in system hardening.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to cloud infrastructure components including IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), SaaS (Software as a Service), and web services.
  • Collaborate within Agile development teams to support continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools for software deployment automation.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud architecture designs, configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
  • Participate in capacity planning efforts to ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness for critical systems.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), NoSQL databases like MongoDB or PostgreSQL, SQL databases including MySQL and Oracle, as well as DevOps practices for seamless delivery.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in cloud computing environments with a strong understanding of cloud architecture principles across multiple platforms including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure or Rackspace.
  • Hands-on expertise with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Docker containers, Kubernetes orchestration tools, Citrix solutions.
  • Solid knowledge of operating systems including Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS), Windows Server environments; familiarity with UNIX systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell; experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or SDLC is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of web services standards including RESTful APIs; experience with microservices architecture is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle; knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB is advantageous.
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet; automation skills using Terraform are essential.
  • Knowledge of network security practices including VPN setup and system hardening techniques to safeguard cloud environments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams on complex projects involving application development and system management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting issues across diverse IT infrastructure components. Pay: $ $75.43 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
