Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team in providing exceptional patient care, ensuring efficient clinic operations, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Experience with Dental software along with a strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical documentation is essential for this role. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment specializing in general dentistry and some specialties.
Duties
- Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, maintaining aseptic technique
- Take and develop dental X-rays and other medical imaging as needed
- Record vital signs and medical history to ensure patient safety
- Denticon software experience a plus
- Educate patients on oral health care and post-treatment instructions
- Maintain infection control protocols following HIPAA regulations and OSHA standards
- Operate 3D scanners and other advanced dental technology for diagnostics and treatment planning
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as a dental receptionist when needed
- Ensure all clinical areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts Registered Dental Assistant is required
- Radiology certification is required
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant (minimum of 2 years experience)
- Knowledge of dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, vital signs measurement, and infection control practices
- Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and accurately
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively
- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment while maintaining attention to detail
