Project Engineer

Location: Clay, NY

Full Time / On site

The
Project Engineer
will Support the Project Manager and project team members, which may include assist in developing project budgets and preliminary schedules, preparing preliminary documents, and ensuring regulatory compliance, identifying and mitigating risks, setting up project management systems, and generating key documents like scope definitions, RFIs, and submittal logs. Setting up and maintain pre-construction project records and digital files. Reviewing project documents (plans, specifications) to identify and address potential issues. Participating in constructability reviews and value engineering sessions. Assisting in creating and tracking requests for information (RFIs) and submittals. Collaborating with design professionals, clients, subcontractors, and the project management team. Attending meetings and generate and distribute meeting minutes. Other responsibilities as directed by the Project Manager.

Education – Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Construction Management

5-years minimum of experience

Project Engineer Responsibilities may include the following:

  • Coordinate with project participants
  • Generating Requests for Information (RFIs) and submittals.
  • Offer technical information to project supervisor to ensure work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
  • Have a general understanding of project budget and assist with buyouts.
  • Monitor and track project quality control metrics and activities on a regular basis, provide timely and accurate quality reports, and raise issues to PM or Superintendent as appropriate.
  • Plan and organize construction engineering projects from conception to completion.
  • Generate project punch list and closeout documentation.
  • May be responsible for bid analysis, constructability reviews, and permit processing.
  • Degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Demonstrated expertise (either through internships or work experience) in commercial projects (i.e. tenant improvements, multi-family and mixed-use, corporate and institutional structures).
  • Excellent communications skills required for interaction with vendors, designers, consultants, and clients.
  • Exposure to MS Office (Word, Excel, Project) AutoCAD, Revit, and Blue Beam.
