Job Description:
We are seeking a Quality Control Inspector in a role that will focus on supporting the Operations and Quality teams at M-7. Primary responsibilities for the QC Inspector will be to lead inspection efforts including incoming and outgoing ensuring customer specifications are met. These inspections are conducted utilizing advanced metrology equipment and software (FARO Arm, Laser Tracker) as well as traditional hard gauging (micrometers, etc).
Additional responsibilities include overseeing all calibration activity within our ISO 9001 system. The QC Inspector will play a key role in supporting the growth of M-7 Technologies and will work closely with the Operations and Project Manager teams.
The ideal candidate will be professional and highly organized, allowing them to neatly and efficiently complete projects in an error-free manner.
Primary Job Duties:
· Perform incoming inspections of items received from supply chain partners to ensure quality standards are met
· Assist the shop floor with in-process inspections as needed
· Lead outgoing inspection and validation of customer requirements working closely with the Operations team regarding these inspections and results
· Oversee the calibration requirements within the ISO system. This includes managing internal and external calibration, due dates, visual stickers, and accurate and thorough record keeping
· Lead identifying new gauging and instrumentation requirements as well as oversee proper repair when needed
· Participate in and lead continuous improvement projects related to safety, quality, and production efficiency
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Preferred minimum of 3 year's experience of quality control or quality inspection in a manufacturing environment
· Proficient in utilizing traditional inspection instrumentation and gauging (OD micrometers, ID micrometers, calipers, etc)
· Familiarity with FARO equipment and software (FARO Cam 2 and Polyworks) is a plus, training is available as needed
· Strong mechanical aptitude, passion, interest, and experience working with heavy industrial (metals) mechanically rotating equipment such as gearboxes and table rolls, bearings, bearing housings, shafting, oil seals, and gearing
· Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and blueprint reading
· Professional competence in both written and verbal communication
· Quick learner, able to be trained in areas where needed
· Ability to multitask and solve complex problems
· Positive attitude, open minded
· Ability to thrive in a team environment and get along well with others
· Strong organizational skills
· Goal and detail oriented, motivated to succeed
· Strong computer software skills (Microsoft Office)
· US Citizenship is required
