Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are met
- Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans when applicable
- Manage patient records using Open Dental ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Monitor vital signs and medical documentation for patients, etc, to support comprehensive care
- Provide chairside assistance during procedures, including handling dental terminology and assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques
- Support the dental receptionist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is preferred but not mandatory
- Familiarity with dental assisting procedures, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge is essential
- Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques in a healthcare setting is required
- Hands-on experience with X-ray technology, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools is advantageous.
- Performs well under pressure in fast-paced environments
