About
Our Salt Lake City, Utah warehouse needs a skilled Material Handler to ensure the efficient movement and organization of goods. As a Material Handler, you will be instrumental in supporting our logistics operations by managing inventory placement, movement, and preparation for shipment or further processing. This role involves operating various types of material handling equipment and maintaining a safe, orderly workspace. You will work closely with other warehouse associates to ensure the timely and accurate handling of all materials. Physical stamina and a commitment to safety are essential qualities for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from delivery vehicles and into warehouse storage.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Organize and stack materials in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assist in cycle counting and inventory verification processes.
- Prepare materials for outgoing shipments, ensuring proper staging and labeling.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of appropriate PPE.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas and equipment.
- Report any operational issues, equipment defects, or safety hazards to supervision immediately.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse environment.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment; certification preferred.
- Must be capable of frequent lifting, with the ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety best practices.
- Familiarity with basic logistics and inventory control principles.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent physical condition, with the capacity to stand, walk, push, pull, and lift for extended periods.
