We are seeking a diligent Order Picker to join our logistics team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As an Order Picker, you will be responsible for accurately retrieving items from warehouse shelves according to customer orders. Your keen eye for detail and efficiency will ensure that orders are picked correctly, contributing to the overall satisfaction of our clients. This role requires navigating the warehouse, utilizing order lists or scanning devices, and ensuring that picked items are staged for packing and shipping. Maintaining a clean and organized work environment is essential for both efficiency and safety. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to streamline the picking process and meet production targets. A strong commitment to safety, including the proper use of PPE, is a critical aspect of this position. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from designated warehouse locations based on order specifications.
- Use scanning devices or pick lists to identify and retrieve products.
- Ensure picked items match order requirements to minimize errors.
- Transport picked items to the staging area for packing and shipping.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of picking areas and aisles.
- Assist with inventory checks and cycle counting as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the use of appropriate PPE.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize picking efficiency and workflow.
- Report any inventory discrepancies or equipment issues to a supervisor.
- Contribute to the overall smooth operation of the warehouse logistics.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an Order Picker or in a warehouse picking role is preferred.
- Ability to perform moderate lifting, typically up to 35 pounds, consistently.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good spatial awareness and ability to navigate warehouse layouts.
- Familiarity with warehouse technology, such as scanners.
- Strong commitment to safety and understanding of PPE requirements.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Team-oriented and able to follow instructions carefully.
